Every year, a few hundred young adults from neighbouring countries are offered scholarships to study nursing at our local polytechnics. After their studies, they are bonded to local hospitals for six years as staff nurses.

In 2023, God opened the door for ARPC to reach out to these nursing students. God also moved the hearts of befrienders/hosts from ARPC to extend hospitality to these foreigners. We are focusing on those from people groups that do not have much access to the gospel in their homeland.

We engage these students through:

• Monthly big group activities;
• Small group hangouts and meals;
• Interest groups; and
• Host Family Program (to spend time with students several times in a year).

We are looking to have more “host families” (either spouses, biological or spiritual families/DGs) to invite students to meals, introduce Singaporean culture, offer support and extend hospitality, at least once a month. We are also looking for prayer warriors to pray for the ministry once a month.

Since these students come from a different culture, it is essential for us to understand their cultural background. To address this, we offer cross-cultural training sessions. We recognise that this opportunity may not always be available to us, so we are eager to make the most of it while we can.
