He is Risen! But What Do We Rise To?
(Glorifying God devotions by pastor Christopher Chia)
The Lord is Risen, He is Risen indeed. So what next?
1. We who humbly believe in Jesus rise to be graced as a new creation in Christ.
We rise to be assured of our identity as a beloved child of God, not a recalcitrant child of the world nor a helpless victim of Satan
This is so redeeming because a lack of, or worse still, a lost of identity causes more angst in our hearts, more mental health issues and more relational hell than we ever care to realise.
That means we can stop running helter skelter trying to “find” ourselves in a relationship or rank for the recognition of others.
We can stop trying to “arrive” somewhere in life. We can stop being and becoming someone we are not.
We can simply bask in being loved and saved by Jesus.
2. We rise to be truly confident of our security that our past sins will not catch up with us, our present sins will not derail us and our future sins will not condemn us.
That means we can stop trying to “fake it” with others or to “make it” in life.
3. Last, but not least, we rise to be absolutely rock solid of the destiny that Jesus alone opens the way to God and heaven.
That means we no longer have to ask “what am I doing on earth” but rather “when am I going to my true home”?
Jesus’ resurrection changes everything. Please embrace him as God’s true gift to you.
Don’t waste your precious time and life trying to find your identity, security and destiny anywhere else.
A blessed Easter. Amen.
