Acts 4:12 declares there is “no other name under heaven by which man can be saved”. That is the incomparable name of the Lord Jesus Christ. There was a lot of name dropping last weekend at our church, ARPC. We witnessed about 20 baptisms as more than 70 people officially became members. What’s so great about Jesus? Here are snippets from some of the testimonies.
Sharon: “I used to bow down to figurines daily. I used to be very superstitious and believed in luck for my work and business. After knowing Jesus, I came to understand there is no such thing as luck or coincidence. It took me awhile to pick up the courage but I finally discarded all my figurines.”
Bryan: “God led me and my family to ARPC and I started to know Him personally. I have lived the first 30 years for myself. Now I am committed to living the rest of my days for my faithful loving Father and the Lord Jesus.”
Karyn: “A relative invited me to ARPC. To experience Jesus was life-changing. Following his will is less dramatic and gradual but as real. The sermons in ARPC have a knack of making Bible passages come alive, relevant to the world and thought provoking.”
Ashley: “In ARPC, I was reminded how baptism is a symbol of God’s grace and an act of obedience as followers of Christ. We are sinners and only God can make us whole again. Faith unites us to Christ and baptism symbolises this union. I am so blessed to be able to share this moment with my fiancé as we begin our life together by surrendering to God.”
Zek: “We came to ARPC last May. I am thankful to God for giving us a loving family that teaches grace and truth where the pastors do not shy away from difficult topics and equip us to share our faith with people in our world.”
Each and all of the above – from contented singles to expectant engaged to maturing marrieds – declare the greatness and goodness of knowing Jesus as Saviour and Lord. When we face the unavoidables of life – be it a destructive moment of sin, a numbing season of lostness, a crippling bout of sickness or our final lonely season of dying – there is only one person who loves you unconditionally and you can depend on whole heartedly. That name is the name of Jesus.
Come and join us in ARPC in person or virtually on the net through our sermons and blogs. More importantly, come join us in calling upon the greatest name of God. Amen.
